India has launched a pioneering genomic data set with 10,000 whole genome samples housed in the Indian Biological Data Centre, enhancing global medical research. This initiative under the ‘GenomeIndia’ project, led by the Department of Biotechnology, aims to foster innovation in treatment and genomic studies while ensuring ethical data sharing.
