GDP Changes: Strengthening India’s National Statistical System

The Government of India plans to update the GDP base year from 2011-12 to 2022-23 to enhance economic accuracy. An Advisory Committee on National Accounts Statistics (ACNAS) has been established to advise on data sourcing and methodologies. Efforts include standardizing data and utilizing administrative records to improve statistical reliability.
