Bagha Jatin, born Jatindranath Mukherjee, was a prominent revolutionary who played an important role in India’s struggle for independence. Known for his courage, organisational ability and belief in armed resistance, he became an important link between early revolutionary groups and later militant nationalist movements.
He was associated with Anushilan Samiti and later became a leader of Jugantar, where he helped organise secret revolutionary networks and trained young people in physical fitness, weapons and guerrilla tactics. During World War I, he collaborated with German agents in an attempt to bring arms to India and organise a wider uprising against British rule.
