Key Focus Areas of India Energy Week 2025

The event will focus on critical energy issues, including:

  • Energy Transition & Green Future – Advancing biofuels, ethanol blending, and flex-fuel vehicles. India aims to produce 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030.
  • Oil and Gas Exploration – Introduction of Open Acreage Licensing Program (OALP) Round X, covering 200,000 sq. km to attract investment in oil and gas.
  • India-US Energy Cooperation – Strengthening LNG supply partnerships and increasing natural gas usage from 6% to 15% in India’s energy mix.
  • Global Energy Investments – Expanding investments in Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, and Mozambique, tapping into new oil sources.
  • Startup & Innovation Recognition – Programs like Avinya’25 and Vasudha rewarding startups for breakthroughs in CO₂ capture, AI-driven energy solutions, and ESG innovations.

Navigating the Nine Thematic Zones

IEW 2025 introduces nine dedicated zones, showcasing innovations across the energy spectrum:

  1. Hydrogen Zone – Latest advancements in hydrogen fuel.
  2. Biofuels Zone – Showcasing India’s biodiesel, ethanol, and aviation fuel progress.
  3. Renewable Energy Zone – Solar, wind, and hybrid energy innovations.
  4. LNG EcoSystem – India’s LNG supply chain and eco-friendly fuels.
  5. Make in India Zone – Indigenous energy manufacturing.
  6. City Gas Distribution Zone – Expansion of India’s gas-based economy.
  7. Petrochem Zone – Sustainable petrochemical solutions.
  8. Innovation Zone – Breakthrough startups transforming the sector.
  9. Digitalisation Zone – AI, IoT, and automation in energy.

India’s Commitment to Sustainable Energy Growth

As one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets, India is committed to balancing economic growth with sustainability. Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has adopted the Panchamrit Pledge to drive climate action:

  • 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity by 2030
  • 45% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030
  • 50% renewable energy share by 2030
  • Achieving net-zero emissions by 2070
  • Reducing carbon emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030

Conclusion

India Energy Week 2025 is more than an exhibition—it is a catalyst for global collaboration, investment, and innovation in the energy sector. With a strong focus on green hydrogen, digitalisation, and sustainable technologies, the event will reshape the future of energy and reinforce India’s role as a global leader in energy transition and security.
